Yes. We see clients throughout Alabama. Sessions are conducted via telehealth, so you do not need to be in any specific city or region to receive care.

Our private practice does not bill insurance directly. However, our therapists are available through third-party platforms that manage insurance billing independently. We are happy to discuss your options during your free consultation.

Your first session is about getting to know each other. We will talk about what brought you in, what you are hoping to work on, and what you need from this experience. You will not be pushed to share more than you are ready to share.

Yes. We provide therapy for adolescents and teens. Parental involvement and confidentiality are handled with care and discussed at the start of care.

Yes. Empowerment Therapy Group provides court-ordered forensic psychological assessments for probate court proceedings in Alabama, including competency evaluations, risk assessments, and evaluations related to involuntary commitment hearings and guardianship proceedings. All assessments are conducted by a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and are documented to meet Alabama judicial standards. Attorneys, judges, and families may contact us directly to initiate a referral.

Referrals for forensic assessments can be made directly through our scheduling portal. We accept court orders and attorney referrals for probate court evaluations including competency assessments, involuntary commitment evaluations, and risk assessments. We serve clients across Alabama via telehealth and in-person as appropriate for the assessment type.
